About Us

Run wild in 2017

Our unique running festival gives you health, wellbeing and community. And monkeys!

We're the only major running festival to run through a zoo. Walk or run through Dubbo's Taronga Western Plains Zoo to get a taste of the world.

We've got animals! Thousands of them. Hundreds of species. Lemurs, giraffes, hippos, lions, apes, spider monkeys (the cute little ones), rhinos... you get the idea. Come along and check them out!

Whether you are keen to walk or wheel 5.3km, run 10km, or smash out a half or full marathon, we have something for you!

Make sure you don't miss out on our 2017 early bird offer. To keep in touch, you can sign up to our newsletter.

How We Help

Our vision is is simple— we’re a running festival for everyone.

How We Help

Our vision is is simple— we’re a running festival for everyone.

There are three fundamental reasons why we are so enthusiastic about promoting the Dubbo Stampede experience.

We love running

We’re runners too and passionate about pounding the pavement (or dirt track!) We love promoting a sport that has long lasting positive health benefits.

We want you to be healthy

It’s no secret that Australia is suffering from an obesity epidemic. So, to help break the chain of generational obesity, we promote healthier ways of living. We want adults and kids who participate in the Dubbo Stampede to finish with a smile and a healthier outlook on life!

We’re building a community

The Dubbo Stampede is all about bringing people together in an active, positive and inclusive environment. We encourage everyone to participate, from walkers and plodders to elite runners and athletes. For those who aren’t able to participate, you can still join in the fun by cheering on the runners or by volunteering to help make the day run as smoothly as possible.

How we help

The Dubbo Stampede is a non-for-profit event run to improve the health and wellbeing of our community. We do this in a number of ways...

Indigenous Marathon Project

We are proud to support the Indigenous Marathon Project as our partner cause. The IMP is a healthy education initiative that builds leaders in our Indigenous communities. It promotes running, healthy lifestyles and complements other Indigenous community health initiatives.

River lighting project

We're excited to be working with Dubbo Regional Council and the Titan Macquarie Mud Run on the Tracker Riley River Running Track lighting project.

This will see light poles erected along the Tracker Riley walking path to create a safer environment for people wanting to get fit and healthy. The Tracker Riley path is one of Dubbo's greatest community assets. This project will make the river more accessible for more people.

Community running groups

We've supported a number of non-for profit groups whose goals and intentions lead to a healthier and more active community. These include Dubbo parkrun and the Vixens and Kits.
